The Opportunity

The heart of insitro’s strategy is the development of novel, cutting-edge methods in machine learning and high-throughput biology to address key bottlenecks in the drug development pipeline.  As an Automation Associate, you will work to implement and support automation solutions for workflows across multiple functions at insitro.  You will collaborate with scientists and engineers to develop, transfer and validate the transition of manual process steps to automated liquid handling and integrated systems. You will support the day-to-day activities for the high-throughput cell line management and screening platforms as well as identify and develop continuous improvement solutions to improve the reliability and precision of our data.  In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to work a flexible work schedule to meet personal and organizational needs.


You will be joining as the founding team of a biotech startup that has long-term stability due to significant funding, but yet is very much in the startup phase. Due to the early and exciting phase of growth, there are ample opportunities for significant impact. About You

  • B.S./M.S. in biological sciences, bio/chemical engineering, or similar experience
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in academia or industry
  • Experience with supporting the operations or development on laboratory automated platforms
  • Experience creating documentation for process validation. qualification and standardized operating procedures
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with liquid handling systems (Hamilton, Tecan, Beckman, Agilent or other similar)


Nice to Have

  • Experience working with integrated automation systems
  • Experience working with or developing processes around high content imaging
  • Familiarity calibrating, maintaining and performing quality control on laboratory equipment
  • Familiarity with automated cell culture methods
  • Familiarity with integrating equipment data with LIMS tools
